Museums in Warsaw
From October 4th to October 10th, 2023, the students participated in Warsaw as part of the ERASMUS+ funded project "Protecting Human Rights – Taking Responsibility." Through visits to the two most important museums in Warsaw – the Warsaw Rising Museum and the Museum of the History of Polish Jews – the participants gained insights not only into Poland's history but also into catastrophic human rights situations. The participants were very impressed by the powerful accounts of time witness Bogdan Bartnikowski. The 91-year-old polish man survived the Warsaw Uprising as a young boy and the Auschwitz death camp. During his nearly two-hour lecture, he also answered questions from the students. (Photos: Tabea Sethmann)
In small groups, the students processed their impressions and insights into their own projects. The contact and exchange between participants from the four different countries were especially important, allowing the students to gain a different perspective on historical events and to learn about the cultures of other people.
